The account you use to access SSH must at least be able to run the uname command. In order for Lansweeper to scan a Linux or Unix computer, you must ensure that SSH is enabled on the computer. Though other protocols enabled on the computer, like SNMP, may provide some information as well, SSH will return the most detailed data. Ideally, an agentless scan of a Linux or Unix computer is performed through SSH. Select the database server you want to use. It does share many functions with other applications, and the reporting tool in Lansweeper is much easier to use and to customize (create your own SQL queries to extract information) as well. If you're spreading out components over several machines, each server will have a unique file by default and you'll need to manually copy one of the files to all Lansweeper servers, so the encryption key is the same on all servers: Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Key\Encryption.txt Alternatives Considered Though Lansweeper isnt designed as a live network management tool, its intended as a static Networked Asset Inventory Manager. The Encryption.txt file is a key used to encrypt and decrypt credentials submitted in Lansweeper and must be the same on all servers hosting a Lansweeper component. You need to copy the file below from the server hosting the web console to any servers hosting the Lansweeper service, replacing the default file generated on the servers.
